Map.
Live aircraft, ships, satellites + every layer your trip needs.
A real-time map service for every workspace and a destination-grade app in its own right. Live ADS-B aircraft, AIS vessels, ~10k satellites tracked client-side, weather, airports, ocean / pollution / events overlays, plus geocoding and tile services every other askFinz workspace reaches into when it needs a pin, a route or a polygon.
Real-time aircraft, ships, satellites — plus the maps every other workspace uses.
Map is two things at once: a destination-grade live-data viewer — aircraft positions, vessel movements, satellite orbits, weather — and the map layer every other askFinz workspace calls when it needs a pin, a route or a polygon. One tile feed, one address lookup, shared across every embed.
Real-time aircraft positions classified per airport — arrivals, departures, overflights, on-ground. The same feed powers Travel's layover-airport pulse so you know whether a hub is moving traffic before you commit to a tight connection.
Multiple vessel-position feeds blended into one layer so the map stays live even when one source goes quiet. Click any ship for full position, heading and recent route.
Satellite orbital data fetched and cached; positions recalculated in the browser so the layer updates every few seconds without heavy bandwidth. Colour-coded by altitude. Click any object for orbit details.
Current conditions and 5-day forecast at any point on the globe. Per-airport arrival and departure activity. Plus pollution, oceans, rail networks, live events, reference cartography and transit — add layers, tune opacity, share the view.
Type an address, get a point — with neighbourhood, district and postcode metadata. Cached map tile service. Travel's itinerary map and price-discovery map both pull from this service, so the data stays in one place.
Travel's itinerary view, Travel's destination price map, Estate's property pin — they all pull from map.askfinz.ai rather than carrying their own map stack. One source of truth, lighter everywhere else.
Live across the platform today. Open map.askfinz.ai for the viewer. Travel's offer pages already render the per-airport pulse from this service's ADS-B feed.
Aircraft over the Atlantic, ships in the Channel, weather sweeping in.
A scripted walk-through — live aircraft appearing as the feed ticks, vessels rolling in as the layer goes on, weather toggling over the top. Try the real thing at map.askfinz.ai.
What ships today.
map.askfinz.ai·AvailableMap is live in production. The features below are working today — not roadmap promises.
- Live ADS-B aircraft tracking — pulled every 90s, classified into arrivals / departures / overflights / on-ground per airport
- Live AIS vessel tracking from multiple feeds merged into a shared vessels store, resilient to any one source going dark
- ~10,000 satellites — TLE catalogue with a 2h cache and client-side SGP4 propagation; click for full orbital elements
- Airport activity API — recent arrivals/departures within ~35 km of any airport, used by the Travel offer page for live transfer-airport pulse
- Weather layer with current + 5-day forecast at any lat/lng
- 13+ overlay layers — pollution, oceans, rail networks, events, reference maps, transit
- Geocoding + reverse geocoding for cross-workspace consumption (Estate listings, Travel routes, Projects teams)
- Tile layers and disk-cached map style proxy — streets, satellite, terrain, transit
- Map widget every workspace embeds — TripMap powers Travel's itinerary view + price-discovery map directly
- Multi-source data architecture — env-gated parallel ingest, NOAA bulk feeds, airport-activity derived from ADS-B hypertable
What we're building next.
Honest scope for Map. The layers above are live — these are what we're building next. Turn-by-turn routing, travel-time polygons and offline map access are on the list.
- Offline-friendly tile cache — pre-download a region, the map keeps working without a connection
- Routing and isochrones — drive / walking / transit time polygons
- Batch API for agents — bulk geocode, bulk route, bulk reverse
Where Map runs.
One account, many surfaces. Map is reachable from the surfaces lit below. Sign in once, pick up where you left off — your threads, files and history follow you across every surface.
Anyone tracking a flight, following vessel traffic or watching a satellite pass can see it live on a single map updated every 90 seconds. Thirteen overlay layers from weather to pollution add context, and the same map powers every other workspace that needs a pin, a route or a real-time position.
