Read the tape.Write the note.Watch the desk.

A workshop for analysts, advisors and operators of capital. Run the briefing in the morning, build a citation-backed note by lunch, and let the dashboards read themselves through the close.

Today · what you can do

Four tasks the desk runs already.

  1. 01
    Morning briefing
Pull the day's signal across multiple feeds, deduped and clustered by holding or sector.
  2. 02
    Equity research notes
Draft a defensible note where every number links back to the page it came from.
  3. 03
    Watchlist news
Live, deduped clusters on the names you follow — so a story doesn't read four ways.
  4. 04
    KPI dashboards from spreadsheets
Pin executive metrics to a build-your-own dashboard canvas; keep statements and filings in versioned Storage.

Finance
Available

A global markets terminal — live prices and deep data on stocks, ETFs, crypto, indices and options worldwide, with AI forecasts and research, all explained in plain English.

Data
Coming soon

Drop a file, ask a question, get a chart. No formulas required.

  • Live portfolio modelling and scenario analysis inside Finance.
  • Natural-language queries over portfolio data — drop the file, ask the question, read the chart.
Example workflows

Three jobs the desk hands to the workshop.

Flow 01

Investment-committee memo

Draft a 6-page IC memo on a single name in an afternoon. The Researcher pulls 10-K passages, the recent earnings call and the last six months of news; the Writer threads them into the house template; every figure carries its citation. Ships as a PDF and a versioned Storage entry.

Flow 02

Portfolio diligence sweep

Run a one-by-one diligence pass over the watchlist before a rebalance. Each holding gets the same five-question rubric, the same source breadth and the same length. Inconsistency is the bug; the workflow is the fix.

Flow 03

Sector news synthesis

Collapse a day's reading on one sector into a single deduped briefing — agreement on top, surface the disagreement underneath, every cluster traceable to the originating sources. Ten minutes instead of ninety.

Typical user

The desks already running this.

  • Buy-side analyst
Builds the case for a position over the course of an afternoon, hands the IC a memo that defends itself.
  • Wealth advisor
Drafts the Tuesday-morning client briefing across the book, lands a portfolio review the client can actually read.
  • Family-office operator
Tracks holdings across managers, runs the quarterly letter without a four-tool scramble for the underlying data.
What ships at end of session

You walk out with the artefact.

  • 01A cited memo or briefing in PDF and versioned Storage.
  • 02A dashboard canvas pinned with the metrics the client actually asks about.
  • 03A research notebook with the working — every claim back to its source.
  • 04A reusable house template for next quarter's repeat of the same job.
One workflow, end-to-end

Drafting a market briefing for a client meeting.

The same chain of moves an analyst runs on Tuesday morning. Four steps across the workshop — most shipping today, with the build-your-own dashboard arriving soon.

  1. Step 01 · Research
    Available
    Pull the read together.

Open a Research notebook for the meeting. Branch a thread per holding. Cite news pieces, 10-Q passages and your own prior notes — every claim sits next to its source so you can defend it later.

  2. Step 02 · News
    Available
Ground it in the current cluster.

Sweep the deduped multi-source news clusters on the names that matter. The same story read four ways collapses into one — surface the disagreement, not the duplication.

  3. Step 03 · Charts
    Coming soon
Drop the KPIs onto a canvas.

Pin price, revenue trend and the two or three metrics the client actually asks about onto a Charts canvas — your own build-your-own dashboard. Keep the canvas — next month is a re-export, not a re-build.

  4. Step 04 · Storage
    Available
    File the artefact.

Export the briefing PDF into versioned Storage alongside the underlying filings. Next quarter's briefing starts from the same folder, not a fresh download.

What this isn't

askFinz is not your portfolio system, your CRM or your order-management tool — and it isn't pretending to be. We don't hold positions, route trades or replace your book of record. The workshop produces the briefing, the note, the canvas, the file you would otherwise hand-craft from those systems. The system of record stays where it is; the artefact moves faster.

Questions

Frequently asked.

Does askFinz work alongside my existing data terminal?
Yes. askFinz doesn't replace your data terminal, order-management system or book of record. You bring the filings, transcripts and spreadsheet exports; the workshop reads, cites and drafts from them. Positions and trade routing stay where they are.
Can I use my firm's house templates for research notes?
Yes. Upload your template to Storage and the workshop will apply it as the output format for new notes and briefings, keeping your IC-presentable layout consistent across the book.
Is there a difference between the cloud workspace and the Desktop App for wealth teams?
The cloud workspaces — Research, News, Search, Storage, Chat — are the primary surface for wealth work. The Desktop App is a full IDE, better suited to technical members who write code or build automation. Most wealth analysts start with the cloud plan.
